Choosing to dress up in a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Costume is the easy part – which character will you choose?  After reading this article you will probably know which one the characters you can most relate to.  Guess which one I relate to?

The teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles originated in a Yankee comic book released by Mirage lofts in 1984 in Northampton, Massachusetts. The tenet arose from a humorous drawing sketched out by Kevin Eastman in a casual evening of blue-skying with his friend Peter Laird. Using money from a tax refund together with a loan from Eastman’s uncle, the young artists self-published a single issue comic planned to parody four of the most well-liked comics of the early 1980s : Marvel Comics’ Daredevil and New Mutants, Dave Sim’s Cerebus and Frank Miller’s Ronin.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ( or simply Ninja Turtles, and previously known in the united kingdom, Germany, Austria, Eire and Scandinavia asTeenage Mutant Hero Turtles ) are a fictional team of 4 mutant turtles, who were trained by a giant, chatting rat sensei, Master splinter, in the art of Ninjitsu. In the peak of its popularity in the late 1980s thru early 1990s, the franchise gained substantial worldwide success and fame.

Leonardo (Blue bandanna and ninjatō) — The courageous leader and devoted student of martial arts. He is the eldest of the four.Originally characterized by four giant horns protruding from his head, Leonardo is named after the Italian polymath, scientist, engineer, inventor, anatomist, painter, sculptor : Leonardo Da Vinci.

Donatello ( Purple bandanna and bo- ) – The brilliant scientist, inventor, engineer, and technical genius. He’s perhaps the least violent Turtle, preferring to use his intellect to unravel conflicts. He wears a purple mask and wields the bo-staff. He is the second eldest of the 4. He’s named after the sculptor. Donatello.

Raphael ( Red bandanna and sai ) – The team’s bad boy, he’s got an aggressive nature and barely hesitates to throw the first punch. He’s a strong fighter. His personality can be alternately fierce and spiteful, and oftentimes delivers deadpan humor. Still, he’s intensely constant to his siblings and sensei.

Michelangelo (Orange bandanna and nunchaku) He wears an orange mask and wields nunchaku. He is named after Michelangelo Buonarroti. His name was originally misspelled’Michaelangelo’ by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman – at the time they were employing a typewriter and didn’t own a compendium.

When little known Playmates Toys Inc. was approached about producing a TMNT action figure line, they were cautious of the risk and requested that a TV deal be acquired first. In late 1987, the TMNT’s first cartoon series began, starting as a 5-part miniseries. In 1998, the Turtles headlined in a real-life television series called Ninja Turtles : the next Mutation that follows the events of the flicks. The series appeared to be a loose continuation of the flick franchise, as Shredder had been defeated and the Ninja Turtles encountered new villains.
